Tim McGraw definitely had a captive audience for the premiere of his latest single, 'Lookin' for That Girl.' The singer debuted the tune during the televised Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Special on Monday night (Feb. 3), which aired on NBC.

The 46-year-old performed the song with his band to a backdrop of scantily-clad Sports Illustrated swimsuit models posing on beaches. But while the avid sportsman admits he's been a fan of the magazine, he refuses to disclose whether he still glances at the publication's most famous issue.

“Certainly, as a kid growing up, I remember getting it and seeing it,” he says (quote via Country Weekly). “You know, you got Sports Illustrated all through the year, with football and basketball season. And as an athlete growing up, too, you’re always paying attention to that.”

He adds, “But, there was certainly something special about the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue that we don’t need to go into detail about … but it was cool being there.”

'Lookin' for That Girl' is the debut single from McGraw's next album, which will be released later this year. The record will be his second for the Big Machine label, and his 13th studio album since his career began more than 20 years ago. But the Louisiana native says he still likes to challenge himself every time he heads back to the studio.

“With every album, my approach is to push a few of my own boundaries and try things I’ve never done before," he explains. "It was hard to choose a lead single off this project because I really felt like we had six or seven good options. I kept coming back to ‘That Girl’ because even though it may be a little different for me sonically, I couldn’t get it out of my head!”

McGraw also announced plans to kick off his Sundown Heaven Town Tour later this year, which will kick off in Sacramento, Calif. in May. Dates for all cities have not yet been announced, but tickets for a select number of venues are already available for purchase here.
