It hasn't even been quite a year since Thompson Square released their sophomore album, 'Just Feels Good,' but the duo, made up of husband and wife Keifer and Shawna Thompson, reveal they are already working on a new set of tunes.

"We've been working on this next record ever since the last record came out," Keifer tells Roughstock. "As far as recording another album, I don't know when that is going to happen. We're going to kind of try to do something a little different on that front, too. We believe that we have a lot of really good songs on this album."

The pair, who co-wrote half of the songs on their last record, say that they will have even more songs to choose from for their upcoming project.

"We've written so much, but we are getting ready to fire up that whole process again," he says. "There are a lot of songs that didn't make either of our albums, so I think we're going to bring a couple of them back. They are really great songs, but they just didn't fit the theme of the other albums. We've written a lot of things since."

But while their thoughts are on putting together their new album, the couple insist they aren't in a hurry.

"It's a very painstaking process that we take very seriously, so it's something we want to get out as much as we can," Keifer says. 'I think in November we will go in and test the waters with that to see what's happening ... start cutting slowly and take our time with it."

Thompson Square are doing much of their writing on the road. They are currently crossing the country on their Just Feels Good Tour, which wraps up in August. See a list of all of their remaining shows here.
