At the 2014 CMA Awards tonight (Nov. 5), New Artist of the Year nominee Thomas Rhett performed 'Get Me Some of That,' a Top 5 hit from his latest album, 'It Goes Like This.'

The son of '90s hitmaker Rhett Akins played his guitar while singing a portion of the track, which tells the story of Rhett's crush on a girl at the bar. Like his fellow New Artist nominee Cole Swindell, Rhett got to perform about half of the song before the broadcast cut away to announce a series of industry awards for broadcasters.

Earlier in the evening, Rhett lost out to Brett Eldredge for New Artist of the Year. 'Get Me Some of That' was certified gold and got to No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart back in May.
