Blake Shelton's film debut has a release date!

The film, The Ridiculous Six, which also stars Adam Sandler, is set for a Netflix release on Dec. 11, according to TV Line. It's a comedic take on Western films like The Magnificent 7, and Sandler co-wrote the script with Tim Herlihy, a frequent collaborator who has previously worked on Sandler's The Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore and Mr. Deeds. The Hollywood funnyman will play a man who was an orphan and grew up in an Indian tribe.

Shelton will play the part of gambler/lawman Wyatt Earp, while rapper Vanilla Ice will play Mark Twain. There's a slew of talented stars slated to appear in The Ridiculous Six, including Taylor Lautner, Nick Nolte, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider and Dan Akroyd, among others. The movie is Sandler’s first release as part of a new deal with Netflix.

Though The Ridiculous Six will be the "Sangria" singer's film debut, country fans know that Shelton can act, as he proved in January when he made his debut as the host of Saturday Night Live. He appeared in six of the night's eight sketches.

Shelton recently scored his 15th No. 1 hit with "Sangria," his third single from Bringing Back the Sunshine. It's not surprising that fans love it so much; after all, “"Sangria" is one of the sexiest songs I’ve ever cut,” Shelton says. “... It’s not too over-the-top, but it’s pure sex — that’s the only way I know to describe that song.”
