The Band Perry Are Heartbreak Free

While the Band Perry sing of heartbreak and broken engagements in songs such as their current single 'You Lie,' the sibling trio admit their hearts are fully intact.

"No, I have not been engaged," Kimberly Perry tells The Boot. "I would like to be one day. [laughs] We always walk, especially with this album, along the lines of reality and the surreal. Engagement and even deep sort of relationships always feel surreal to us at this time because we're all tied up in the music. It's something that the three of us certainly desire for the future. I think our music always has a little of a longing edge to that."

They may not have lived through the breakups of their music, but they are able to draw from personal experiences when writing and performing those tunes. "We're squeaky clean when it comes to heartache," Kimberly continues, "although, folks really close to use have walked through that."

As 'You Lie' makes its way to the top of the chart, it's time to start thinking about the next single. Although, the trio are nowhere near making up their minds on what that will be.

"We're debating," Kimberly says. "There are a few options."

"It depends on the day of the week," Neil adds. "Seeing what mood we're in."

There are definitely ample choices available from their gold certified self-titled debut album. "'All My Life' would be a good contender," Kimberly admits. "It's that love song, I don't know that we've had that yet. 'Independence' is one that is so powerful with our audiences live. The rapport between us and the crowd during that song is so tangible. 'Walk Me Down the Middle' is selling really well, so it's also a contender and, of course, 'Postcard From Paris' is up there.'

"Really, the rest of the album," Reid interjects with a laugh.

The siblings can debate the winner during those long hours on their tour bus, as they are out on the road with Tim McGraw for his Emotional Traffic tour. Their next stop is Saturday (April 9) in Austin, Texas. See the Band Perry's tour schedule here.
