The Band Perry's self-titled debut CD is only a little more than a year old, and already the trio are racking up the metal. Their second single and first No. 1 hit, 'If I Die Young,' been certified double platinum by the RIAA for sales exceeding two million units.

"It's been an amazing year!" the siblings said in a statement. "'If I Die Young' has an inspirational message that so many have embraced, and we are humbled that it has impacted so many people. This is truly an honor."

The tune was penned by lead singer Kimberly Perry, who finds the song's success was pleasantly surprising. "It's just amazing how many fan stories are rolling in and just what that song has meant to folks," she tells The Boot.

A concert favorite, her brother Reid adds the song has such a wide appeal because of its universal message. "It's really meeting people right where they are and helping them," he notes. "For some folks, it's a song of healing if they've had recent losses, and for others, it reminds them to live each day to the fullest."

The video for 'If I Die Young' is nominated for three CMT Music Awards -- Video of the Year, Group Video of the Year and USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year. The Band Perry will take time off the road with Tim McGraw on his Emotional Traffic tour to perform at tonight's (June 2) VH1 Save the Music Songwriter Series in Nashville, Tenn. Tickets are still available and can be purchased here.
