Steel Magnolia's Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones are currently enjoying the climb up the charts with their third single, 'Last Night Again.' While three is usually the lucky number that gets artists thinking about their next album, the duo -- whose self-titled debut was only released in January -- are taking the advice of a seasoned pro instead.

"We wrote a song recently with John Rich and I was talking to him about our album," Joshua tells The Boot. "He's a veteran, he knows what's going on. We're in the studio and he asked me if we're getting ready to release another record. I asked him what he thought about releasing a few more singles from the first one. He said, 'If you have a couple songs on your record that are way different from each other, you can release them. When you do that you are picking up new fans with each one.'"

That tidbit got Joshua's wheels churning. "Our record has a lot of that on it," he explains. "If you listen the first song to the last song, it doesn't feel the same. We need to get the full spectrum of what the record has going on out there. We've got everything from 'Homespun Love,' which Keith Urban wrote, to the songs we wrote. We still want to see it get more fans. It's what we love to do."

What contributed to the array of songs that made the debut project? "We're rooted in country but we have so many different influences," Megan adds. "It's just a matter of finding songs that feel comfortable and strike a chord, and making them work for us."

However, when it comes to releasing new music, it's all about the fans. "We want a couple more singles off this thing because we believe in it," Meghan continues. "We want people to listen to it and to get it."

"At this point in our career, I want to get out there and have people like us," Joshua adds.

The couple wrote or co-wrote seven of the 12 tracks -- including 'Last Night Again' on their debut -- but when choosing songs, that's not a factor. "If we don't write the song we're singing, it's not the end of the world," Joshua admits. "At the same time, the songs we write feel more comfortable. It feels more at home. We're more comfortable performing it. We'll never pass up a good song, though."

What tunes are in contention for possible release? "'Edge of Goodbye,' is one we've been talking about," Meghan reveals. "Also, 'Without You,' and 'Ooh La La.'"
