Sara Evans, Jay Barker Donate $25,000 to Children’s Hospital

Sara Evans and husband Jay Barker, who have seven children between them, have helped make the lives of numerous children easier this Christmas season. The two presented a check for $25,000 to the Children's Hospital of Alabama on Wednesday morning, December 1.

Sara and Jay volunteered their time to this year's Regions Charity Classic golf tournament held in May, and in lieu of appearance fees, the couple asked for the funds to be donated to the hospital.

"As parents and members of the Birmingham community, Jay and I have seen first-hand the difference that Children's Hospital makes in the lives of families throughout Alabama," Sara states in a release. "We are humbled by the opportunity to play a small role in supporting this outstanding organization."

The singer's football star-hubby adds, "Sara and I were excited to hear that this year's tournament would benefit Children's Hospital, and we are grateful for the opportunity to give something back to an organization that has helped so many children in our state."

As Alabama's only hospital dedicated solely to the care and treatment of children, the Children's Hospital of Alabama is one of the 10 busiest pediatric medical centers in the United States.
