Sara Evans married into football royalty when she and former University of Alabama quarterback Jay Barker tied the knot in 2008. In the meantime, the singer has become a huge fan of the Crimson Tide, and she can usually be seen on the sidelines along with her husband, who is currently a Birmingham, Ala., radio personality.

"There really is no place like an Alabama football game in Tuscaloosa. The fans are just crazy wild," Sara tells The Boot. "Jay does a sports talk show in Birmingham, and the fight between Auburn and Alabama -- it's the same as arguing religion or politics. People get so heated about it. They're so passionate, and I think that's awesome.

"It's so fun to be married to an Alabama football star," the singer gushes. "He took them to the National Championship in 1992, and he was undefeated all four years of his career there. People just love it! They can't get enough of it!"

Sara has not only been a spectator at some of the games, but she also performed the national anthem at a game a couple of years ago. In fact, she was touted as the team's lucky charm after kicking off the December 2008 game, which ended a six-year losing streak to rival Auburn with a 36-0 win in front of a sell-out crowd of more than 92,000 fans.

By the way, the University of Alabama beat Michigan State 49-7 at this year's Citrus Bowl in Orlando on Saturday.

Sara, who was not able to make it to many games this past season, will return to the road next month. She plays a show in Salamanca, N.Y., on February 13. She'll release her new album, 'Stronger,' in March.
