Think juggling a marriage, seven children, a No. 1 record and an upcoming tour is enough to keep Sara Evans busy? Think again. The 40-year-old star says she hopes to expand her brood, which already includes three children from her first marriage and four that became part of her family when she wed Alabama football legend Jay Barker in 2008.

"We want a baby together so bad," she tells Chicago radio station US 99.5. "I just have to figure out the right time because I despise pregnancy. I'm begging Jay to let us hire a surrogate, but he's not comfortable with that."

A surrogate mother worked for Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, who managed to keep their new addition to the family, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban -- born via an anonymous gestational carrier -- top secret until their baby was three weeks old. But Sara says that she would like to hire someone closer to home. "If I did it, I would want it to be somebody I knew, like one of my sisters. I would want it to be a friend, or a sister, that I knew I could trust, and that they wouldn't run off with my baby," she reveals. "I wanted one of my sisters to do it. They're great. They're wonderful, healthy, beautiful young women. They were both, when I mentioned it, like, 'Oh, that's so weird, no way, I would never ...'"

Their reluctance quickly turned to excitement when their sibling mentioned the price tag. "I said, 'I'll give you 20 grand,' and they started fighting over who was going to get to do it! So then I said, 'Why don't you both do it and then Jay and I can have two children ... that would be hysterical. And then I could continue to drink wine, stay skinny, have fun, and also have this beautiful baby."

(Of course, Sara has a great sense of humor and loves to joke around ... so we're pretty sure she's using those excuses jokingly.)

Sara and Jay will have plenty of time to discuss adding to the family in the upcoming months. She heads out on June 18 on the Rascal Flatts tour, where she will be accompanied by her adoring husband, who plans on traveling with her and their large family. "Jay loves the road, and that's something that I'm so grateful for," Sara tells The Boot. "He and I have that personality where we don't have to move all day. If we have my three children out there, which we pretty much always do -- and my kids are so like that, too -- they can hang all day out on the bus. They don't have to be entertained or running around all the time. They can just kind of hang. We love to go to catering, hang out, and then wait for the big show. Then after the show, [we] come back to the bus and watch a movie and just hang out."

Sara will share opening duties with Easton Corbin and Justin Moore. The tour kicks off in Bristow, Va. on June 18. See the complete schedule here.
