Congratulations to up-and-coming artist Sam Outlaw and his wife Andie: The two have welcomed a child into their family!

Outlaw shared the news of the birth of their son, Leo Samuel Morgan, on Wednesday (May 11); the baby boy was born weighing 7 lbs., 11 oz. In addition to the sweet photo of himself and his new son (above), Outlaw also shared a shot of baby Leo cuddling with his mama.

In June of 2015, Outlaw released his first LP, Angeleno. The singer-songwriter wrote all of the record's songs, and the album as a whole is filled with Southern California country — a different sound than Nashville country, certainly.

“Making country music in Los Angeles — it’s not like Nashville, where there’s this built-in love for roots music, but there used to be,” Outlaw explains. “The history of country music in Southern California is very special, and it’s incredible, so as much as God knows I want people to know about me … in some way, it’s almost more important to me that people get turned on to the greater history of country music in L.A. and Southern California.”

In the almost-year since, the singer-songwriter has been on the road, performing overseas and at SXSW 2016, among other stops. He'll get a few weeks at home with his wife and new child before beginning a string of summer dates. The artist is also working on a new album; he's been tweeting many photos from the studio in recent weeks.
