See Sam Outlaw’s Black-and-White ‘Angeleno’ Music Video
Sam Outlaw has shared a music video for his song "Angeleno." The black-and-white clip shares the story of real-life rodeo star Cesar Kid Banuelos, while Outlaw himself acts as the narrator.
Throughout "Angeleno," viewers see Banuelos enjoying time with his family in his personal life and risking his life on the back of a horse as he navigates his rodeo life, while Outlaw sings with backing from a mariachi band. The video, directed by Max Cutrone, is sincere and intimate; press play above to watch.
"Angeleno" is the title track of Outlaw's most recent release. The singer-songwriter wrote all of Angeleno's songs, and the album as a whole is filled with Southern California country -- a different sound than Nashville country, certainly.
“Making country music in Los Angeles — it’s not like Nashville, where there’s this built-in love for roots music, but there used to be,” Outlaw explains. “The history of country music in Southern California is very special, and it’s incredible, so as much as God knows I want people to know about me … in some way, it’s almost more important to me that people get turned on to the greater history of country music in L.A. and Southern California."
Angeleno is available via iTunes and Amazon. Outlaw is currently out on the road with Whitney Rose, on their joint Country & Western Nights Tour.
