Reba McEntire is returning as the host of the ACM Awards this Sunday, for the 12th time. Far from being routine, the superstar says it's just as exciting as when she took the reins for the very first time.

"I'm looking forward to it," she tells Entertainment Tonight. "Got all my dresses ready to go and the scripts ready, so we're eager to get there. And it is a lot of fun. Once you're at the other awards shows and you're sitting in the audience and you're going, 'I wonder what's going on backstage,' you like the excitement. And it's live television. Sometimes you have to stretch. Sometimes you have to kind of sit right through it. So I like that. I like the thrill of it."

Reba says keeping an audience entertained on live TV isn't that different from what she does every day. "It's kind of like a country song. It's all in the scripts. It's all in the words. So we've got to make sure that our jokes are good and entertaining and the songs are right, and I look just right. That's the prerequisite."

Nominated for an ACM Award for Female Vocalist, Reba is just as happy to be named in that category as she was when her career was just taking off some 30 years ago. "It would be very special to win," she says. "I think the first time I won it was 1984. But just to be nominated, and I can say this honestly now, it is a huge thrill after all these years being in this business, that they still want me around and still like my music and what I'm doing. That's a huge compliment, and I'm very flattered and honored."

Reba will also perform at the 45th Annual ACM Awards, televised live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 18 at 8:00 PM ET.
