New Music Videos from Lindsay Ell, LoCash and More Country Artists
It's an exciting week in country music, with the ACM Awards coming up on Sunday (April 15). Leading up to the big event, nominees LoCash (New Vocal Duo of the Year and Vocal Duo of the Year) have dropped a brand new music video, along with a few other notable up-and-comers in the field, and some industry vets in a whole new setting. Scroll through the latest releases below and press play to catch the latest in country music videos.
Lindsay Ell, "Criminal"
Lindsay Ell proves that her talent can't be locked up in the video for "Criminal," which landed the artist her first No. 1 ever on Canadian charts. While the lyrics refer to the adrenaline rush of a risky love, Ell's video plays out the other side of the story, as the singer-songwriter finds herself behind bars in a maximum security facility for a little bit of grand theft auto. Not to fear, with some clever picking (lock and guitar), Ell escapes and continues to chase the thrills. The song appears on Ell's 12 track album The Project, which debuted at No. 1 on the Neilsen Soundscan Current Country Albums chart in Canada last August.
LoCash, "Don't Get Better Than That"
The ACM Award nominated duo LoCash, consisting of Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, released the ultimate feel-good video for their song "Doesn't Get Better Than That." Filmed on California's Golden Coast, the video follows the pair through some glimpses of life's best moments off the grid, and some of Cali's hidden natural treasures.
"We wanted to show how grateful we are for this life, for our families, and for our career. It's all about knowing where you've been and loving where you're at -- that’s our journey." Brust told ET in an interview about the video.
Cassadee Pope, "Take You Home"
Cassadee Pope dropped a hot new video for her single "Take You Home." The shadowy images of Pope on stage and in the back of a cab play an understated role in the images that the lyrics conjure up. Pope says she felt like the song provides its own storyline.
"I wanted to support the song, not to overshadow.” Pope said in a press release “I love how much of a departure the look is from my past music videos. I wanted to go darker with the colors, more inconspicuous with the locations, edgier with the wardrobe." The Season 3 winner of The Voice has shared this song ahead of her upcoming debut album.
Sir Rosevelt, "Something 'Bout You"
Just in time to be the next big summer anthem, Sir Rosevelt brings something new to the mix this week with a video shot in exotic locations around the world. "Something Bout You" is the feel-good first single off the self titled debut album from Zac Brown, in collaboration with songwriter Niko Moon and Ben Simonetti in his pop-country side project, Sir Rosevelt. From Iceland to Paris, way off the grid to the bright lights of downtown and everywhere in between, the video for the up-beat song plays out images of exploration and adventures around the globe.
The Wild Feathers, "Big Sky"
Tapping into the influence of musical greats like The Eagles and old-school Alabama, the Wild Feathers stretch out in some wide-open spaces in their videos for "Big Sky." The first single off their upcoming album, the harmony rich tune plays out against a backdrop of sprawling fields and winding rivers, an ode to the back road and rural areas unimpinged by technology and progress.
