The Zac Brown Band might count their Grammy award and three No. 1 singles as career highlights, but nothing will compare to their recent appearance at the historic MerleFest. Fans of the festival since the early '90s, Zac and company count their performance this past weekend as a hugely memorable event.

"We're going to be here for the next three days, soaking up the atmosphere," lead singer Zac Brown exclaimed to the crowd during their two-hour set (quote via CMT). "I think this is the greatest festival in the world!!"

Hitting the stage before the band's two-hour performance were their tourmates, ACM-winning duo Joey + Rory, as well as Rhonda Vincent and Doc Watson, who's late son, Merle Watson, is the festival's namesake. Known for drawing some of music's biggest headliners, the festival also played host to Dierks Bentley, Elvis Costello, Dailey & Vincent, John Cowan and several others.

The Zac Brown Band recently announced their partnership with Dodge Ram Trucks, kicking off the Letters for Lyrics campaign. With a goal of sending one million letters to U.S. troops stationed throughout the world, participants in the initiative will receive a free compilation CD with three songs by the band, as well as various artists on Zac's Southern Ground label.
