While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, having someone impersonate you can be quite the headache, as Luke Bryan is finding out. The singer-songwriter is currently dealing with fake Facebook profiles that have been opened in his name, and has enlisted his fans to help by posting the following on his official page:

"Hey y'all, PLEASE SHARE THIS! i just want to let everybody in on something. there have been a lot of issues with fake facebook profiles of me. this is the only profile i use for correspondence. i don't have a personal page. if you are friends with another Luke Bryan, unfriend them and don't believe any of the messages."

And it doesn't stop there. Apparently, Luke's wife Caroline is also being drawn into situation, leading him to add:

"Also, people are impersonating my wife of all people. she DOES NOT use facebook. unfriend anyone pretending to be her. i'm sorry for such a long post, but i want all of you, my fans, to be aware of what's going on."

The result has been astounding. More than 1,800 fans have shared the post with their friends, while upwards of 24,000 people have commented on it.

This isn't the "Drunk On You" singer's first bout with impersonation. In February, a fake profile was taken down after the Georgia native's personal information was exposed. TV station WALB/Albany, Ga., spoke with his mother at the time, who called the ordeal a "nightmare."

A general word to the wise when connecting with celebrities is to use their official (verified) social networking accounts and, as always, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
