The Nashville Predators played their first home game of Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday afternoon (April 30), and they kept their post-season tradition of calling upon major country music names for pre-game performances alive. Little Big Town sang the National Anthem prior to the start of the Preds' third Round 2 game vs. the St. Louis Blues.
Readers can press play above to watch Little Big Town's rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" from Sunday afternoon. The country quartet appeared on Sunday Today earlier in the day to talk with Willie Geist about how tragedies that the group's four members have experienced have brought them closer together.
“I think [those personal tragedies are] how we all became family, and it makes us strong,” LBT's Jimi Westbrook says. “I wouldn’t want to walk through any of this without these people.”
Little Big Town are the reigning ACM Awards Vocal Group of the Year as well as the CMA's most recent Vocal Group of the Year winners.
The Predators and the Blues will play each other again on Tuesday night (May 2), at 9:30PM ET. Prior to Game 3, the series was tied at one game each.
During Round 1 of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan performed the Anthem during the Predators' two home playoff games. The Predators swept the Chicago Blackhawks during that round, winning the first four (out of seven potential) games.
