Lady Antebellum members Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood lend their talents to a new project celebrating the 100 year anniversary of ASCAP.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers is a non-profit performing rights organization that protects the musical copyrights of its members by monitoring public performances, and also divides up and pays out royalties on those performances.

More than a dozen top songwriters and composers joined together for 'More Than the Stars,' which premieres exclusively on The Boot and three of our partner sites. The song and video came about during the filming of 'Why We Create Music,' a documentary ASCAP commissioned to celebrate hitting the century mark.

Michael Marantz directed both the documentary and the video, which also features Christian artist Amy Grant, pop musicians Josh Kear and Dan Wilson, Oscar-nominated film composer Oscar Burwell and more.

Kelley is featured in a prominent vocal slot on the song in the clip above, while Haywood appears playing the banjo later in the video.

Moe information about ASCAP is available at the organization's website, which also features an interactive timeline of its 100-year history.
