Kimberly Schlapman is releasing her very own cookbook. The Little Big Town member has announced that 'Oh Gussie! Cooking and Visiting in Kimberly’s Southern Kitchen' will be released on April 14.

“I’ve been so excited about this that I could hardly stand the wait!” says Schlapman. “When I’m not on stage with Little Big Town, you can probably find me in my kitchen. As long as I've been singing, I've been cooking. I have poured my heart and soul into this book, and I hope these recipes and stories will inspire you and bring you closer to the ones you love as you fill up their bellies -- and their hearts.”

Schlapman has already earned rave reviews for her culinary skills. The songstress has her own cooking show, 'Kimberly's Simply Southern,' which airs on GAC TV.

“It’s different than being on stage,” she tells The Boot. “I’m used to people looking at me. I’m not used to people watching me as intently as they are to make sure I’m not making a mistake! [At home], there might be a dozen people watching me cook, we’re chatting and having a great time, and I never notice it. But in here, the cameras are rolling, the food stylist is looking to make sure everything is looking perfect and the culinary producer is making sure I’m following every single ingredient.”

Schlapman isn't the only country singer who has authored a cookbook. Martina McBride released her first cookbook, 'Around the Table,' last year, while Trisha Yearwood announced that her third cookbook, 'Trisha’s Table: My Feel-Good Favorites for a Balanced Life,’ will be released on March 31.
