Kenny Chesney to Headline 2017 Tortuga Music Festival
Kenny Chesney will make his third appearance at the Tortuga Music Festival in 2017. The singer has been announced as one of the beachside country music festival's headliners.
Chesney previously performed at Tortuga in at 2013 and 2015. The event, set for April 7-9, 2017, and held at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will be one of only a handful of shows that Chesney will perform in 2017, per a press release. The country star is also scheduled to headline Country Jam 2017, which will take place in June.
Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley headlined the 2016 Tortuga Music Festival. Despite some rough weather on the first day, nearly 90,000 fans partied at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, flocking to the venue from 47 states and 16 countries. In addition to being a giant, country music-filled party, the event also raises awareness of issues affecting the world's oceans and supports marine research and conservation, especially as it relates to sea turtles. Through four years, Tortuga festivalgoers have raised more than $300,000 to support those efforts.
Tickets for the 2017 Tortuga Music Festival are on sale now; more information is available on the festival's official website. Chesney recently wrapped up his 2016 Spread the Love Tour and is preparing to release a new album, Cosmic Hallelujah, on Oct. 28.
