Kenny Chesney Shares Special Moment With Fan Fighting Cancer at Final Spread the Love Tour Stop [WATCH]
Kenny Chesney ended his 2016 Spread the Love Tour with a bang, playing back-to-back sold-out shows at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. The result? Over 120,000 fans in attendance, an extended curfew especially for the show ... and one fan who had a night she will never forget.
With extra songs and surprise guests, Chesney created memorable nights for all of the fans who saw him throughout his 2016 summer tour, but in Boston, longtime fan Kelly Swanson had the most epic experience of them all. During a mashup of "The Joker" by the Steve Miller Band and Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds," Chesney spotted Swanson in the crowd, and after pulling her onstage, the eight-time Entertainer of the Year winner took off Swanson's Red Sox ballcap to reveal her bald head. Removing his cowboy hat, Chesney put his own bald head against hers while signing the Marley line, "Every little thing is gonna be alright." Swanson laughed and pointed to her friends, who were recording the moment, before Chesney sent her offstage with a hug and a kiss.
Swanson later posted the video on her Facebook page, including a caption that reads, "[This moment] holds so much emotion for so many people near and dear to me as well as all those who are still fighting or have fought their battle with cancer. The outpouring of posts texts and messages proves that there is still a lot of good people in this world. #everylittlethingisgonnabealright" She then published a heartfelt message on Facebook the day after the concert, thanking Chesney for giving her the most memorable experience.
"For all those that know me know that Kenny Chesney is my utmost favorite entertainer, and I have attended many of his shows over the years. Last night was amazing. It was a true testament of the type of person Kenny is ... a genuine, stand-out human being that spreads the love," she writes. "As if it wasn't enough for him to catch my eye to let me know 'every little thing is gonna be alright ... I promise,' but to be brought up onstage was so surreal. Thank you Kenny for making my night so special and one I will never forget."
Swanson also thanks her friends and family for their love and support throughout her battle with cancer, saying, "I wouldn’t have wanted to end my summer any differently than with all of you."
