Jason Michael Carroll says his fans have taught him not to take himself too seriously.

"My fans continuously crack me up," he tells The Boot. "Like if I fall down at one show onstage at a show in Florida, we'll go to Pennsylvania the next night and that fan will be there with a sign that says, 'Don't trip over your two left feet!' ... If you can't laugh at yourself, you shouldn't be out here."

Sometimes those laughs come courtesy of pranks, not accidents. Take, for instance, one night on the road with Brooks & Dunn.

"I always have a scarf tied to my microphone stand, because I'm a huge Steven Tyler fan. Their (Brooks & Dunn's) road manager walked me up to the stage one night ... They announce my name, the spotlight hits my mic stand and there's a pink feather boa tied to my mic stand, in place of my scarves," Jason recounts with a laugh. "I tried to yank it off, but it wouldn't come off, so I just rocked the entire show with a pink boa."

Sadly, he didn't cover Aerosmith's 'Dude Looks Like a Lady' at that show, but promises us he'll consider it another time.
