Jake Owen's a beach guy. He grew up in Florida, loves water sports and even got married on a beach. So it's only fitting he'd shoot a few music videos with sand and surf as his backdrop. For his latest single, "The One That Got Away," the country star chose the Florida coast not only for aesthetic reasons but also to help put even more of a personal touch on the song's autobiographical lyrics.

"It's a true song for me; it's the one on the record (Barefoot Blue Jean Night) that I wrote," he explains. "[It's] about my hometown and the way that girls and their families would come to town during the summer and then they'd leave three months later, go back up North, start school. They would always leave, and there's this one girl in particular, I never saw her again."

The singer recreates the storyline using a teen actor to play "Young Jake," who falls in love with a pretty young thing who's visiting his beachside hometown. The official video will be out soon, and in the meantime Jake shares exclusively with The Boot this behind-the-scenes clip from the video shoot.
