For the final installment of The Boot's Guest Room Sessions of 2019, singer-songwriter Bradford Loomis is sharing a deeply personal song, "In the Time of the Great Remembrance." Press play above to watch.

Featuring a mellow melody and Loomis' vulnerable vocals, "In the Time of the Great Remembrance" is about the artist's father's battle with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. "Watching him accept this terrible news with courage and determination has given me a drive to be more honest, intentional and committed to seeking what I want and believe in," Loomis tells The Boot.

For his Guest Room Sessions performance, filmed in the back of Salem Music in Winston-Salem, N.C., Loomis is joined by special guest Brett Morgan Thompson, whom Loomis describes as one of his "favorite musicians and writers." When the duo stumbled upon Salem Music in Winston-Salem, they were immediately drawn to the location thanks to its unique look: "I liked the living room vibe in the middle of all the music gear," Loomis explains.

Based in Nashville, Loomis draws inspiration from artists including Jason Isbell, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Stapleton and Shawn James. In October, he released Where the Light Ends, the critically acclaimed record on which "In the Time of the Great Remembrance" appears.
