George Strait has extended his 2016 run of shows in Las Vegas to include two December dates, due to fan demand.

The King of Country, who originally planned on playing in Sin City on April 22 and 23 and Sept. 9 and 10 of 2016, has now added two additional concerts, on Dec. 2 and 3, to his calendar. Kacey Musgraves will serve as the opening act for all of Strait's Vegas shows.

"Come April, it’ll be about a year and 10 months since I performed with my band," Strait says. "It’s gonna be exciting to get back out there again. I’m looking forward to singing those songs that I love so much.”

Strait will be one of the first entertainers to perform at the newly built Las Vegas Arena, which is scheduled to open in April of 2016.

“I said all along I wasn’t going to tour anymore, but I also said that I wasn’t retiring by any means and I still wanted to do some dates,” Strait explains. “I’m very excited to be coming back out and playing for the fans out there. I’m looking forward to it so much, singing those songs that I love so much and haven’t done in a while. I’m really, really looking forward to being able to play in the new Las Vegas Arena. I hear it’s just unbelievable. I can’t wait.”
