It's a girl! Country star Eric Paslay and his wife Natalie welcomed their daughter, Piper Lily, on Saturday (Dec. 8), although according to People, the newest addition to the Paslay family didn't get her name until three days after she was born.

"It took three days for us to name her! We needed to get to know our baby girl before we could choose," Paslay and his wife explained.

The singer announced the pregnancy in July of 2018, but did not reveal the baby's due date, nor did he indicate whether the family was expecting a boy or a girl. Piper Lilly was born at 9:37AM, and was 19 inches long and weighed 7 lbs., 2 oz., People reports, adding that the couple decided to name her after taking a few cues from her personality.

"After getting many smiles and much laughter from all her cute little sounds and squeaks, Piper suddenly fell into place and seemed right for her," the Paslays explain. "Her middle name came a little easier. Lily is a derivative of Elizabeth, who was Mary's cousin and the mother of John the Baptist. It also happens to be Natalie's favorite flower!"

Piper Lily is the couple's first child together, and the new addition to the family makes the holiday season extra sweet this year. "We are completely in love with our little girl and looking forward to the happiest Christmas of our lives with this beautiful gift from God," the Paslays add.

Eric and Natalie Paslay married in April of 2015, after meeting several years prior after meeting through Paslay's then-publishing company, where Natalie worked. The singer released his single "Young Forever" in February of 2018 following a special behind-the-scenes project called The Work Tapes EP the previous year.
