Easton Corbin was in Indianapolis recently, where he sat down and answered "8 Questions at 8 Seconds" (Saloon) for radio station Hank-FM. While the question about his first public performance -- at his great-grandma's birthday party -- doesn't really count (since he chickened out and couldn't perform!), he does share a useful tip for anyone who overdoes alcohol consumption during the holidays: try coconut water and Ibuprofen. Plus, if Easton happens to be on your Christmas shopping list, we have two words for you: Civil War. (Watch the full interview here.)

Easton also has a suggestion for music journalists and others who tend to ask him the same thing over and over again: next question, please. While he's flattered to be compared to country's king, George Strait, the question about the similarity in their voices tends to be asked of him over and over again.

In an exclusive interview earlier this year, Easton told The Boot, "I can think of a lot worse people to be compared to."

That said, another aspect of contemporary country music that he won't get caught up in is going too far into the direction of pop.

"There's just a lot of rock 'n' roll out there right now in country and not much country," he noted. "I think it will swing back again but right now it's more rocky and poppy. It will go back to that traditional sound and then go back again the other way. But it's always who I've been. I've never envisioned myself doing any other type of music."

Easton has a few more concert dates lined up for 2012 and will be touring in the new year as well. Keep track of his tour schedule here.
