Easton Corbin is excited about heading to Las Vegas for the 2011 ACM Awards, but don't expect to see him at the slots. The singer-songwriter, who's nominated in the fan-voted Top New Solo Vocalist category, doesn't have a lot of experience in the gambling arena.

"I went out for the ACAs; it's a lot of fun," Easton tells The Boot. "Casinos are fun to go into, I just don't know what I'm doing. [laughs] I gambled one time with a buddy, who showed me what to do. We played three card poker, and I won $100. I've never gambled in my life until then. By myself, I'm pretty dangerous ... in a bad way."

Fans may still vote for the Top New Solo Vocalist winner here until February 24. Easton insists he's not worried about whether he, Eric Church or Randy Houser takes home the title. "I don't really get nervous about winning," Easton explains. "It's an honor to be nominated. It's one of those things, whoever wins, wins. Of course, I want to win. [laughs] I do get nervous when I'm at the award shows, though, because you're under the spotlight. I definitely do better singing up there than I do talking."

This award in particular is special to the Florida native because it's fan-voted. "It's a really cool thing to have the fans' voices heard," he says. "That means a lot, because they're the ones buying records and listening to radio. It's special if you win it. Either way, though, it's an honor."

If he does win, Easton won't be taking the stage with a written acceptance speech. "A lot of times, I wing it," he admits.

The ACM Awards air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 3 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on CBS-TV.
