Is David Nail a Twitter quitter? The singer, who, like fellow country star Blake Shelton has gained a reputation for blocking his followers on the social-networking site for posting negative tweets, has reportedly decided to keep his own tweeting to a bare minimum.

"I obviously can't please everyone in Twitterland." David tweeted last week, "so from now I will simply be using this for updates! Merry Christmas!" According to the blog Got Country?, David's fans were quick to respond, in hopes he would continue to post his usual tweets on everything from sports and favorite barbecue spots to updates about his wife, their puppy, and his constant cross-country travels.

Among David's recent tweets cited by the blog as signs of his exasperation were posts asserting, "I have other duties besides twitter" and "Yea, sorry guys, I'm down here trying to raise money for kids dying of cancer..."

He's probably not ready to give up Twitter altogether, however, and David has clearly learned a thing or two from Blake. He recently tweeted: "In regards to the 'negative' tweets I saw this morning, please have a sense of humor, if you continue, you will be @blakeshelton 'BLOCKED!" And he's also taken note of the number of followers Blake has amassed, saying in a post a few weeks ago: "We gots to spread the word! @blakeshelton has 60plus thousand followers. I'm jealous ..."
