Colt Ford’s ‘Every Chance I Get’ Features All His Rowdy Friends

Colt Ford just can't get enough of Tim McGraw, Eric Church, Jason Aldean, and his other friends, rowdy or not.

When Colt was on Hank Williams Jr.'s Rowdy Friends tour, he heard the array of distinct voices from his tourmates each night. On his new album, 'Every Chance I Get,' set for release on May 3, the Georgia native tried to capture some of those different country flavors. To do so, he wrote and recorded songs to suit the individual personality and voice of each guest artist. Take, for instance, Charlie Daniels and the song Colt wrote with him in mind called 'Overworked and Underpaid.'

"Charlie Daniels does so much for [the U.S. military], and the song is about those soldiers, policemen, firemen, nurses, and all those people who do so much," Colt tells The Boot of the song he wrote with Dallas Davidson. "I just knew that was a song I wanted him on and when we were done. It was perfect. When we wrote it, I couldn't think of anyone else [I wanted to guest on it] except him. I'm just thankful he said yes."

Not only did Charlie offer up guest vocals for the tune, he also offered to play fiddle, which Colt says adds a whole new dimension to it.

"When you hear it, you just know it's him," says Colt. "It couldn't be anybody else."

Of course, Colt underscored that the other guests on his album are also one-of-a-kind artists. Take the album's first single, 'Country Thang.' One version features Dallas on vocals, but Eric Church guests on the album-only rendition.

"You'll know the voices of everybody on the album," says Colt with a laugh. "Eric Church -- nobody sounds like him! He is a regular old bad ass, too, which I love. Luke Bryan is a great country singer. And of course that little known guy, Tim McGraw, there's nobody like him."
