Chris Young knew from the moment he finished writing his latest single, 'Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song),' with Kent Blazy and Cory Batten, that the song would change his life and his career. After 33 weeks on the chart, the Tennessee native has the nation's No. 1 country tune this week.

"I have to give huge credit not only to our fans for calling and requesting it, but to radio for playing it and my promo staff at RCA for working their butts off," Chris tells The Boot.

Since the single and video have been in heavy rotation nationwide, Chris says feedback on the road has increased dramatically, with the singer getting his fair share of thank you's from his male fans.

"I've actually had a couple of people come up to me and say, 'Hey, the first time we went out on a date, I played your 'Black Dress' song for her. She wore a black dress, and man ...you helped me out!'" Chris says with laughter. "We get a lot of people coming up to us after shows saying, 'Yeah, I love playing this song. This is our song for each other.' It's cool to hear that from people and that they care that much about the song."

'Getting You Home,' Chris' second single from his sophomore album, 'The Man I Want to Be,' has also reached the Top 40 on the pop singles chart.
