Chris Young Knows Remaining Humble Is Important
Thanks to his back-to-back No. 1 hits ("I'm Comin' Over" and "Think of You") and his fifth consecutive Top 5 album (the chart-topping I'm Comin' Over), Chris Young has plenty to boast about recently. However, the country star says that the more success he has, the more humble he finds himself becoming.
"There’s just so much good stuff going on, I don’t see how you couldn’t be [humble]," Young tells The Boot. "I’m enjoying every minute.
"I don’t get to do this if people don’t like the stuff I’m putting out," he adds. "It’s just been a lot of fun, and especially the past several years, really. It’s been a pretty incredible ride, and hopefully we’re not going to stop anytime soon."
Young's current single, "Sober Saturday Night" features his musical idol, Vince Gill. It was Young's idea to invite Gill to help out on the track, and he admits that he was surprised at how readily Gill agreed.
"We basically just called and asked if Vince wanted to do it, and he said, 'Yeah.' It seems like it should be much more complicated than that, but I’m glad it wasn’t," reveals Young. "It was really just an awesome experience for me. I haven’t hidden that I’m a fan of his either, so being able to go over into his studio and have him as a feature on this song was just incredibly cool."
Young wrapped up his extended I'm Comin' Over World Tour at the end of 2016, but he already has several shows booked in 2017, including performances in England and Scotland as part of the Country 2 Country Festival. A list of all of Young's upcoming shows is available on his website.
