Chris Young's latest single, 'Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song)' inches up one more spot on Billboard's Top Country Singles chart to the No. 2 position this week, giving the singer hopes of experiencing his first chart-topping hit.

"As it entered the Top 10, I got all excited. I was like, 'Man, I've got a Top 10 hit! Nobody can take that away from me!' Then it was like, 'Oh, I've got a Top 5!' That's huge," Chris tells The Boot. "There are very few people who ever get a Top 5 record. I've got my fingers crossed as I just kind of watch what i t has continued to do on the chart."

Chris will have to keep his fingers crossed until the new chart positions are revealed Monday, to see if he is able to knock Toby Keith's 'American Ride' out of the No. 1 spot. "If Monday it is up another spot, I'll probably be the happiest guy in Nashville," Chris says with laughter. "Monday can't come fast enough for me!"

This week, Chris' label mate Jake Owen and his buddy Justin Moore have been posting messages on their Twitter and Facebook pages, encouraging their fans to call radio to help push 'Gettin' You Home' to No. 1.

"It's a cool feeling to know that you've got other artists pulling for you just as hard as you're pulling for them," says Chris. "When Justin was going for his [No. 1 spot], I was telling everybody I could find, 'You need to go play this record.' Somebody told me today that he put something up on his Twitter ["Everybody go request my buddy Chris Young's song to help him get to #1!"]. I've already texted him to thank him. I said, 'You didn't have to do that.' He was like, 'I just want to see it happen for you.' He's a great, great dude."
