Chris Stapleton Launches 2015 Tour

Chris Stapleton has announced that he will headline several shows in support of his upcoming Traveller album, which is set to be released on May 5.

Stapleton, who is also performing several shows with Eric Church and Little Big Town over the next few months, will take the stage at New York City's Mercury Lounge the night his album is released, followed by a show at the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville, Tenn., on May 8.

The tunesmith, who has written numerous hits for other artists, including Luke Bryan's "Drink a Beer" and Darius Rucker's "Comeback Song," took his time recording his own freshman project.

“When Mercury approached me about making a record for them, I was really flattered and humbled, but it also made me do some real soul searching about the kind of record I would want to make,” Stapleton says. “My biggest wish is that people hear these songs and they are moved in some way ... that they are reminded of someone they love or someone they lost or even of themselves.”

Stapleton released the album's debut single, also its title track, earlier this year.
