Carrie Underwood is the odd woman out. She's the only female nominated this year for the Academy of Country Music Awards' Entertainer of the Year -- a category that rarely includes females.

"There have been several women over the past decade that should have been nominated at some point, and it's very disappointing that they haven't been," Carrie tells Dial-Global. "I know how hard that women have to work. And not to take anything away from the guys, but we gotta do a lot more. We gotta to do it in high heels! [laughs] It's a little unfortunate that a lot more women haven't gotten a lot more credit."

If Carrie wins, she'll be only the seventh female in ACM history to be named the Entertainer of the Year, joining Loretta Lynn (1975), Dolly Parton (1977), Barbara Mandrell (1980), Reba McEntire (1994), Shania Twain (1999) and the Dixie Chicks (2000).

Carrie is up against Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, George Strait and Keith Urban for the honor. For the second year in a row, the Entertainer winner will be chosen by the fans. You can cast your vote at www.voteACM.com, up until the last hour of Sunday's show, which starts at 8 PM ET on CBS.
