Although the love-to-hate-her character of Juliette Barnes on ABC's new musical drama "Nashville" was at first speculated by many to be based on Taylor Swift, the young woman who plays her, actress Hayden Panettiere, says the character -- or at least certain aspects of her -- are based on another country superstar: Carrie Underwood.

"Taylor's known to be a very nice person and handles herself well," Hayden told USA Today earlier this month. That's not to imply that Carrie isn't, however! Hayden clarified that one of the main things she took from Carrie was her stage presence, adding, "She's one of those girls that doesn't do the whole dancing-around-choreography thing but has that stage presence like no other. She can just stand there and be incredibly interesting."

Carrie recently weighed in on Hayden's comments and shared her own thoughts about Juliette, telling Charlotte, N.C. radio station, the New 103.7, "She definitely ... sparkles and has the big blonde hair going on ... so that's pretty accurate. As long as she says she patterns her look after me, and not a lot about the rest of the character. She's kind of the mean girl!"

"Mean girl" Juliette and the rest of the "Nashville" cast can be seen Wednesday nights on ABC. "Good Girl" singer Carrie will be seen this Thursday night (Nov. 1) on that same network, co-hosting the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley for the fifth consecutive time. Carrie is also up for Female Vocalist of the Year. The CMA Awards will air live on Nov. 1 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
