The Canadian Country Music Association has announced the nominees for the upcoming Canadian Country Music Awards, with a host of familiar names leading the pack.

Johnny Reid is the top nominee with seven nods: Fans' Choice, Single of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, CMT Video of the Year (for both 'Today I'm Gonna Try' and 'Change the World'), Album of the Year and Male Artist of the Year.

Dean Brody is close on his heels with five nods for Fans' Choice, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Male Artist of the Year.

Joining Johnny and Dean in the coveted Fans' Choice Award category are Terri Clark, Doc Walker and George Canyon. George also shares the Album of the Year category with Aaron Lines and Carolyn Dawn Johnson, who is also nominated for Female Artist of the Year and Record Producer of the Year.

Other nominees in the Female Artist of the Year category include Terri, Victoria Banks, Tara Oram and Tenille. Male Artist of the Year nominees also include Gord Bamford, George Canyon and Deric Ruttan.

Group or Duo of the Year nods go to Doc Walker, Emerson Drive, The Heartbroken, Hey Romeo and High Valley. A full list of nominees can be found here.

The CCMA Awards, which will include performances by Ronnie Dunn, Dean Brody, Paul Brandt, Terri Clark and Emerson Drive, will be held on September 12 at the Copps Coliseum in Ontario. Tickets can be purchased here.
