John Prine saw the biggest record sales success of his career with his new, Dave Cobb-produced album, The Tree of Forgiveness. Following its release on April 13, the record debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, moving more than 54,000 units in its first week; it also landed at No. 1 on the Americana / Folk Albums chart, and at No. 2 on the Country Albums and Rock Albums chart. The Tree of Forgiveness is the treasured Americana songwriter's first release in 13 years, and clearly fans have more of an appetite than ever for his simple, stunning tunes.

The Awards, set for Sept. 9, will follow Twain's packed summer of sold-out concert dates and comes on the heels of her brand new album Now, released last September. The announcement of Twain's hosting gig also comes days after the country star found herself facing online backlash for saying that she would have voted for Donald Trump; Twain has since apologized and clarified her statements in a series of tweets.
