Kelly Clarkson is headed to the (animated) silver screen! According to Variety, the singer and The Voice judge will star in the upcoming animated film UglyDolls, produced by STXfilms. Clarkson will voice an appropriately named character called Moxy in the film, and will perform original songs. In addition to Clarkson, UglyDolls has also secured fellow artist Pitbull to appear in the film, which is set for release sometime in 2019. -- AM

The nominations for this year's Canadian Country Music Awards have been announced, and up-and-comer Dallas Smith is up for four trophies. Nominated in the Apple Music Fans Choice Award, Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year and Video of the Year categories, he joins artists including Jess Moskaluke, Brett Kissel, High Valley and more as nominees for Canada's biggest country music honors. The 2018 Canadian Country Music Awards will take place on Sept. 9, and Canada native Shania Twain (also a nominee this year) is hosting; visit CCMA.org for a full list of nominees. -- AM

Aaron Watson has announced a brand-new live album, Aaron Watson Live at the World's Biggest Rodeo Show, due out on Aug. 24. The Texas singer-songwriter largely recorded the project during a show at the 2017 Houston Rodeo; however, a bonus track, "Higher Ground," was written and recorded after Hurricane Harvey devastated the state in August of 2017. As such, $1.41 from each album sale will benefit the Rebuild Texas Fund. -- AS

Jason Aldean's Rearview Town is 2018's most popular country album — so far. According to new data from Nielsen Music, the record has sold more than half a million equivalent album units, and is also the year's biggest-selling title in all genres. Kane Brown's "Heaven," meanwhile, is the year's most popular country song on streaming services; it's been streamed more than 242 million times on digital platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. Of course, Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line's cross-genre collab "Meant to Be" is the year's biggest-selling digital song, with nearly 850,000 downloads.
