Cam may be a relative newcomer to the country music scene, but she knows who her career heroes are. While walking the red carpet at the 2016 ACM Honors, the singer-songwriter noted that although she's become known for her penchant for the color yellow, the real owner of that color -- at least within country -- is none other than Dolly Parton.

"Yellow roses are her thing. She loves yellow -- it can be her color forever!" Cam told The Boot, before going on to gush about Parton and their impactful first meeting.

"I got to do an interview with her on a rocking chair ... It was insane," she recalls. "It's crazy to meet someone who's been a legend for so many years and is so smart. You can just see it her face: When you speak to people [like her], you can see it in their eyes -- like, their wheels are turning, and, man, that's what she does.

"She makes you laugh, she makes you feel like her best friend, but she's, like, the smartest ... She's got a little pickup line at the end of everything that makes you laugh," Cam adds. "It's so good; she's, like, the most brilliant."

In late October, Cam will begin her first-ever headlining tour, the 2016 Burning House Tour. The singer-songwriter says that she's most excited for the freedom that comes from striking out on her own for the first time.

"I've been touring with Brad [Paisley] and Dierks [Bentley], and now it's like, my people and my set," explains the singer, adding that the tour's name won't be the only thing influenced by her hit song: "We're going to take elements from the "Burning House" video -- anything to make it feel like 'Cam country' ... I've been dreaming about this for a long time, so I'm really excited."
