Brandy Clark and Dwight Yoakam performed a flawless acoustic version of Clark's song 'Hold My Hand,' from her '12 Stories' album, during the live televised broadcast of the 2015 Grammy Awards.

Singing about a woman whose boyfriend runs into a former flame, the two artists beautifully harmonized in the chorus, ending with "This would be a real good time / Oh, this would be a real good time / This would be a real good time / To hold my hand."

Clark and Yoakam met while performing as the opening acts on Eric Church's Outsiders World Tour last year.

"I met him on the last night of the tour, and I've been a fan of his forever," the songstress explains to USA Today.

Turns out, Yoakam quickly became a fan of Clark as well.

"I would be walking backstage in the hallways of the arena, getting ready to do my pre-show meet and greets," he recalls. "That's where I became familiar with Brandy."

Although he was familiar with Clark's many songwriting hits, including Kacey Musgraves' 'Follow Your Arrow,' Yoakam says he couldn't decipher the words Clark was singing through the thick walls -- not that it mattered.

"I would just hear this beautiful, echoing musical aura that would drift into the hallways of various arenas we were in," he adds. "I was drawn to it every time I heard it."

Clark was nominated for two Grammy Awards this year, for Best Country Album (for '12 Stories') and Best New Artist.
