Brad Paisley Pranks the Band Perry
It wasn't the first time, and it likely won't be the last, but Brad Paisley pranked the Band Perry during the San Diego stop of his Virtual Reality tour on Friday (Oct. 19). Several men dressed as Lt. Dangle from Comedy Central's "Reno 911" joined the trio when they hit the stage.
"We had just started our first song and we knew something was up when the audience started laughing," said the band's Reid Perry, with his brother Neil adding mischievously, "Brad, we've had a great time touring with you ... don't worry, we're not planning any sort of a retaliation."
"We're so grateful to Brad for inviting us be part of his touring family this past year and for being such a fun-loving host," Kimberly notes. "We just hope on the next tour he can buy his crew members some longer shorts! [laughs]"
Granted the siblings did strike first, bringing Brad's love for science fiction to stage during one of their first performances of "Whiskey Lullaby." The tragic love story was interrupted by Brad's laughter when he realized the "Postcard From Paris" singers were each wearing Spock ears.
"Just a little subtle thing to kick off the tour," Reid explained. "We were wondering, do you pre-emptively prank Paisley or do you wait for him to start it?"
Now that the Virtual Reality tour has ended, the trio can be seen next when they debut their new single, "Better Dig Two," at the CMA Awards next week. The show airs live from Nashville on Nov. 1 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
