Brad PaisleyBack before Brad Paisley was headlining arenas and having long streaks of consecutive No. 1 singles, the future superstar played a lot of small gigs throughout his home state of West Virginia. Before making the big move to Music City, Brad was given the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at a minor league hockey game, and it was a moment in his life that he painfully remembers with laughter.

"I don't know whose brilliant idea this was, but they had the mic out in the center of the ice," the singer tells the 'Jay Leno Show.' "They said, 'Alright, you're going to walk out in the dark, and we're going to hit you with the spotlight and sing the national anthem.'"

All seemed to be going pretty smooth for the young singer until he hit the ice -- literally.

"When I walked out -- not wearing skates -- I slipped," he recalls with laughter. "I'm on my butt, laying on the floor, and the spotlight hits me ... looking like a crime scene investigation! I remember thinking as I'm falling, 'Let me hit my head and die. I want to die right now.'"

Luckily all that Brad hurt was his confidence of walking on ice! Brad launches the last leg of his American Saturday Night tour with Miranda Lambert and Justin Moore on Jan. 7 in San Antonio, Texas.
