Brad PaisleyWhen Brad Paisley took a nasty spill on stage at the end of the final date on his American Saturday Night tour in Charlotte, N.C. last month, he ended up with a terrible looking bruise, which he twittered to his followers.

Afterward, he said the bruise looked even worse, but he didn't want to share just how much worse. "It's better [now]," Brad tells The Boot. "There's this lump. That's what's weird is I've never had that kind of bruise. It really happened right on the bone, and it's getting smaller. But there's this lump of something under the skin that feels like bone it's so hard, but it moves around. It's basically clotted blood probably. But they tell me I'm OK."

The tumble actually scared him, because it was so painful. "I never hit that hard," recalls Brad. "I thought I broke my hip. I didn't thankfully ... I didn't hurt any organs or anything like that. I hit a lot harder than it looks. When I went down, I grabbed the guitar, and it all hit right there on that bone."

In the video of his fall, it looks as though Brad was saving his prized guitar from being damaged, but he was actually protecting something else. "I was going down one way or another. I just stopped playing. I sort of had the neck [of the guitar] ... and I knew not to land on my arm. I never do that. As I skidded, [my hip] hit first."

Can fans expect the same when the country superstar hits the road on his H2O trek, kicking off in May? "Whatever it takes to entertain people, I'll do that," jokes Brad. "I'll fall the extra mile." Hopefully, with all that water surrounding him, he'll have a soft place to land.
