Blake SheltonBlake Shelton may be as famous for his wry sense of humor as he is for his music. The constant jokester admits that his outspokenness unnerves a lot of people, and he wonders sometimes if it might negatively affect his status in the music industry. He tells The Boot even his dad has considered the possibility, mainly due to his ongoing Twitter war with PETA.

"My dad asked me what I was gonna do on that CMA show, and I said, 'Dad, once again, they don't want me on the show.' And he said, 'Do you think it has something to do with all that tweaking?' I said, 'It might have something to do with it, I don't know!'"

But Blake defends himself as "just being honest" in his "tweaking" on Twitter. It's just that his honesty is often laugh-worthy... or cringe-worthy, depending on how you look at it.

"I guess people are just now figuring out that I'm a smartass," Blake laughs. "But I also like to think I may be one of the few in the business that's not full of b.s. If I lose 2000 fans over being honest, I've gotta think I've gained 20,000 at the same time."

Blake says his upcoming album, due out in 2010, will be in the vein of his current single, 'Hillbilly Bone,' with lots of uptempo fun and redneck attitude.
