Billy Currington’s ‘Beer’ Brews His Best Numbers Yet
Billy Currington's video for 'People Are Crazy' may not have won the 2010 CMT Award for Male Video of the Year -- the nod went to Keith Urban for 'Til Summer Comes Around' -- but he's still got plenty to celebrate this week.
Billy's single 'Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer' is the fastest rising and biggest selling, first week digital single of his career. The numbers tally up to 21,000 track sales -- a 42% increase from the success he had with 'Don't." 'Beer' is the debut single from Billy's new album that will be out in September.
Billy says 'Beer' was inspired by fond memories of growing up in Rincon, Ga.
"Our Friday night parties weren't in somebody's house. They were in a field somewhere with a bonfire," he tells Country Weekly. "We had trucks with loud stereos and kegs in the back ... I've got good memories of dirt roads."
