Billy CurringtonBilly Currington is about to hit the airwaves with his latest single, 'Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer,' the follow-up to his two previous chart-topping hits, 'People Are Crazy' and 'That's How Country Boys Roll.' The song, which he didn't write, is the first release from his as-yet-untitled upcoming album, which is expected to hit stores this fall.

"I've been stashing all these songs that I get pitched every year in this one little spot in my computer," Billy tells The Boot. "It's probably 10 years of songs now, so I feel like I'm so stacked up with songs that I really didn't need to write or look for them because there's so many I keep having and not recording that I want to record every time an album comes around. So, I'm picking from that stash, but I'm always hoping that something new will beat it out. There's not a lot of writing this time for some reason. It just didn't happen. I wasn't in the right place."

While the Georgia native may not have written many songs for this new album, one of the songs he did write was with one of his heroes. "I wrote one song with Skip Ewing," says Billy. "He was one of my favorite songwriters and still is. And I begged and begged for years to write with this guy and it happened this past year. And we got a good one, so that might go on there."

Billy joins Carrie Underwood's Play On tour this fall, beginning Sept. 25 in Portland, Ore.
