Billy Currington has his passport ready. He isn't getting ready to take a long vacation, but rather to help those less fortunate in other parts of the world.

Creating a new organization, Global South Relief, to assist Central American countries in need, Billy says he's honored to be able to offer assistance. "I've been so inspired by the people of these countries," says the singer. "They survive on very little, and it serves as a reminder that I am very blessed and can provide assistance. The goal is to make this an annual trip and to reach as many countries as we can in the future to provide these people with some relief."

The singer, who was recently nominated for two Grammy awards, is hosting a benefit in Key West, Fla., this Saturday, along with good friends, songwriters Brett Jones, Dallas Davidson and Scotty Emerick. Following the benefit, the group will travel with Billy to Guatemala and Costa Rica to hand-deliver the supplies to the locals.
