Alan Jackson and Denise JacksonAlan Jackson has built his multi-platinum singing career that spans two decades on being simple, understated ... but with a depth of quiet feeling that feels real to listeners when it comes to the songs he sings. It's why he fell in love with his latest single, 'It's Just That Way' the first time he heard it ... because it's a song that simply embraces the mysteries of life -- the sun coming up each morning, the stars showing up each evening, the man in the moon coming out to play each night. Don't ask him why, the song asks ... it's just that way.

Alan says the lyrics mirror the wonder of his relationship with his wife of 31 years, Denise, the mother of his three teenage daughters.

"It reminds me of Denise and I," he tells GAC. "We've been together forever, and sometimes we just think back ... where we started, and how it all happened. And it was just like we were ... supposed to be (together). It's just that way," he says. "I was supposed to be with her, and vice versa. So I liked the song."

'It's Just That Way' is one of three songs, out of 12 tracks, on his soon-to-be-released album that wasn't written by Alan.

"It's one of those that I wish I had written," Alan admits. "It's a simple lyric, but it says it all. When I heard that, I immediately loved that. The melody ... it's just a really beautiful melody. That thing ... it's hard for me to sing. It's kind of rangy for me, but it's a cool melody."

Alan's next album, 'Freight Train,' is due out March 30.
