The votes are in, and the 2019 CMA Awards' highest honor goes to ... Garth Brooks! The country star received the coveted trophy during the awards show on Wednesday evening (Nov. 13), during a live broadcast from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.

"If they gave this award to this show tonight, I'd have to give it to Reba McEntire's performance. Kelsea Ballerini ... fantastic performance tonight," Brooks said from stage. "Luke Combs ... this has got your name on it in the future, hoss."

Brooks is the most-awarded CMA Entertainer of the Year in history. His newest win marks the seventh time he's accepted the trophy since he received it for the first time in 1991. He won Entertainer of the Year in 2016 and 2017, too, before being edged out by Keith Urban in 2018, and has now reclaimed his position as reigning Entertainer of the Year.

Brooks' win comes on the heels of an innovative, record-breaking 2019. Early on, he kicked off a multi-year Stadium Tour, explaining at the time that he planned to hit 10-12 stadiums each year. Later in the year, though, he took the opposite tactic, launching a Dive Bar Tour of very small venues. The latter run was inspired by his new single, "Dive Bar," a duet with Blake Shelton.
